San Diego girls kicked it into high gear during the Southern California Beach Soccer Championships this past weekend in Oceanside. Here are six stars who stood out from the pack.
Tiffany Apple- SD United (WPSL)

Apple led United to its second consecutive title at the Beach Soccer Championships thanks to her clutch play between the sticks. The sand made saving shots a bit tricky, but she allowed her team to outscore its opponents, 29-17, through five games.

Stephanie Boman- FC San Diego GU14

Boman executed two goals in FC San Diego’s 4-2 win over the FC Heat in the team’s final pool-play match. The tournament finalists figured out how to work with the sand early on.

Nicole Sedgwick- FC Heat GU14

Sedwick was a dual threat. In FC Heat’s final game, she was a difference-maker in goal during the first half before moving into the field and scoring a goal after intermission.

Alexis Reyes- FC Heat GU12

Reyes scored four goals in the final to give the Heat a 10-4 finish over the MV Thunder. Reyes’ crucial contribution helped the Heat win its first tournament in three years.
